Discharge

To ensure timely and smooth discharge from the hospital:

General Discharge Steps:

  1. Discharge is initiated by the Consultant via the HIS system.
  2. Ward nurse prepares discharge forms and TTH (To-Take-Home) medication.
  3. Business Office (BOFF) staff verifies documentation, billing, and outstanding services.

For Self-Pay Patients:

  1. Patient is identified using Name + Date of Birth.
  2. Business Office (BOFF) prints and explains the discharge bill.
  3. Outstanding payments are collected; receipts are issued.
  4. If overpaid, a refund form must be filled for reimbursement.
  5. After full payment, discharge documents (e.g. bill, receipt, appointment card) are handed over.
  6. Pharmacy: TTH medication is dispensed in-ward (before 6 PM) or from the Ground Floor counter (after 6 PM).
  7. Patient status is updated to “Final Discharge” in the system.

For Insurance Patients:

  1. Ensure GL (Guarantee Letter) or Insurance Claim Forms are completed by doctors.
  2. Submit claim forms and documents to insurance.
  3. If FGL (Final Guarantee Letter) is delayed, patient may place a temporary deposit via credit card.
  4. Non-covered charges (if any) must be paid before discharge.
  5. Payment details and any pending follow-ups will be updated in the hospital system.
